In the past I have been to a lot of technology events. Some of them have been gritty or very basic. Others have been quirky and a lot more fun than I had been prepared to expect. There were even more than a few filled with government agencies looking for the latest hackers that could join their ranks and help them with cyber security. As you can imagine, technology events vary in their substance and style.
But sometimes what you want is a truly luxurious event. It can be as much an excuse to get away for a couple of days of pampering as it is to get up to date on the latest and greatest in the industry. Here are five of those types of events, so you can bask in the luxury while still being productive.
1. Lean Kanban France
Enjoy cocktails, good conversation and plenty of networking opportunities with others in the field at Lean Kanban Conference that will be held in Paris this October. Learn better means of risk management, scientific and collaborative approaches in the technology industry, discover the latest lean startups and a lot more. This is a much smaller gathering than many others, which is a benefit if you prefer to have more one on one time with lecturers, and to be able to meet more people without getting lost in a sea of faces. Details are on the way, so stay tuned and check their website often for program details. You can purchase tickets now for 475.00 EUR at the early bird price, 650.00 EUR at regular price.
Where and When: This technology conference will be taking place at the Maison des Associations de Solidarite in Paris, France, on October 3 – 4, 2013, and for a perfectly luxurious week you book your stay in advance via Luxury-Hotels.com.
2. Tech Mentor Events
Take advantage of the many floor shows, stage shows, large exhibits, glamorous hotels and casinos at Tech Mentor Events that will be on Redefining The IT Classroom, and will be held at the Tropicana. Topics that will be discussed include Security, Cisco + Networking, Server $ Client, SharePoint and a lot more. This is a must-attend for anyone in the IT community, and will have plenty of workshops on top of the keynotes and lectures so you can get your hands dirty and really delve into the industry improvements involved. Prices start at $1,695 for the early bird, and $1,895 for the standard price. They offer a package for the hotel stay, as well…$ 2,195 for early bird, $2,395 standard price.
Where and When: Enjoy the conference in the exciting city of Las Vegas from September 30 – October 4, 2013.
3. Captivate Conference
The title of the conference sure highers expectations, doesn’t it? >From video game to mobile technology, from movies to audio, there are plenty of sessions to choose from. Which includes a separate session for leadership aimed at supervisors and CEO’s. They even have one for students, to help you adapt once those classroom days end and you have to convert your knowledge into a real world concept. Badge prices vary on level chosen. A Squire badge is $150, while a Ninja is $225, Sensei is $250, Mystic is $300, Nobility is $375, and an Apprentice badge for students only is $50. This event is being held at the Palmer Event Center.
Where and When: You will be able to join others in a number of tech related industries in Austin, Texas, October 6 – 8, 2013.
4. BOB
Who is BOB? No one…it stands for Best of Breed, and it is one of many conference being held by Xchange Events this year. The top executives from NextGen, CRN’s Tech Elite, Fast Growth and Solution Provider 500 will get together to network, discuss coming changes to the industry, reflect on the latest trends and listen to keynotes from powerhouses in the tech field. There will be private dinners and one on one networking opportunities, an opening keynote from Tim Sanders of Net Minds, various panels from vendors, and a closing speak by Debbie Maier of The End Result. This event is being held at the Grand Hyatt, and it is an exclusive event. Which means rather than a general registration it has an application process.
Where and When: BOB will be in Tampa, Florida on October 15 – 16, 2013.
5. TechSelect
With it being part of the TechSelect event series, you can be assured of a luxurious venue, plenty of exciting speeches and keynotes and more.
Where and When: This one is technically not in Autumn, as it is being held on November 6 – 9, 2013. But I thought it still deserved to be on the list. Few details are known at the moment, but it will be held in Beverly Hills, California.
