Facebook, center of the online universe. As the single most popular social networking website ever created, it has become a major hub for communication between friends, family, colleagues and even strangers from across the world. It has also become a major place for quizzes, gaming and other fun little activities that are easy to find anywhere on the site.
But what happens when you use an application and you don’t like it? Maybe it turns out to have spyware attached, or gives your personal details to third parties. Or you just don’t use something anymore, such as Farmville or Vampires or any other popular Facebook game. Whatever the reason, you aren’t stuck with it on your profile forever (thankfully). You can easily remove it, and get rid of all updates. You can even get rid of the requests from friends.
Here’s how to get rid of any Facebook Application.
How to Get Rid of Applications
Step One: Sign into Facebook with your regular account.
Step Two: Click on ‘Account’ on the top right hand corner and select ‘Privacy Settings’.
Step Three: Scroll down near the bottom of the page until you find ‘Applications & Websites’, selecting ‘Edit Your Settings’.
Step Four: You should find a section called ‘Applications You Use’. Most of your apps will be here, and you can select the ones you want to get rid of.
Note: If the application you are looking for is not located here, you can find it by selecting ‘Edit Settings’ on the far right of the screen. This will take you to all others that are not regularly used or updated.
That’s it! You are done and those applications will never be on your profile again, unless you put them back on yourself.
How to Ignore Application Requests From Friends
Step One: When you get an application request, select to see all requests.
Step Two: Go to the requests you wish to ignore and select ‘Ignore all requests from this application’.
Note: You can also choose to ignore all requests from a specific friend.
You’re done! Wasn’t that easy?
Facebook is made to be easily usable by people of any technology level. You can take advantage of this user-friendly interface to customize your profile in any way that you might like to. So, don’t let those irritating applications get you down. Get rid of them instead!
