Internet Fax (or “efax”) is a general term which refers to sending a document facsimile using the Internet, rather than using only phone networks (traditional faxing) with a fax machine. While the idea of setting up a fax number may appear to some a bit outdated given the popularity of email, there are 4 key benefits to consider.

8 Open Source Projects from Google
For many Google has become the patron saint of open source, and the number of open source projects Google supports or directly develops seems to increase every day. Some of Google’s own open source projects, like Android, have become as common as their proprietary competitors, yet many do not even realize they are using software with free and open source components.
While major projects like Android, WebM video, and Chrome make headlines and attract numerous developers and end users alike, there are plenty of little projects from Google that you may not even know about, but that are worth looking at and maybe even taking for a spin. In no particular order, here are eight of the ones I found interesting.

Thanks for the Memory Sticks – Accessorizing the Working Day!
Now here’s the thing – memory sticks! Is there anyone else out there who, like me, actually has more of these than lipsticks in their handbag? I’m not excluding men here; this is not a sexist comment: I’m sure you corporate business men always have an emergency lipstick in your laptop briefcase! Seriously, since the growth of laptops and portable hardware, it was only a matter of time before our laptop bags overtook our working girls’ handbags as the kitchen-sink carry-all*. This is why suppliers now offer laptop bags in such a variety of styles and colours and why some designer outlets can charge as much as they do for them – it’s because they know that we’ll (a) love them (b) buy them (c) use them wherever we go!

Google Chrome: The Ideal Browser for Bloggers and Content Authors?
For all bloggers and content authors there’s nothing more annoying than a browser’s crash just before you were about to hit the ‘submit’ or ‘publish’ button into a blogging or CMS system. With many platforms still lacking an auto-save built-in functionality this can be disastrous. It is not only the waste of time but also the overall frustration and distrust to technology that is being entailed.
Losing a piece of unique content of 1000+ words is something that shouldn’t happen under any circumstances. I still can’t believe that after 15-20 years of browser’s evolution users are still experiencing data loss. It makes me think Lynx and the first Mosaic were more stable than Internet Explo(d)er 8 or even Firefox 3.
Unarguably, quite many content authors still use Interner Explorer, not really because they are happy with it but because it is pre-installed. Others, seem to use it out of habit as they’re reluctant trying out an alternative. And there are so many alternatives that one would really get frustrated trying out Chrome, Firefox, Opera etc.

3 Key Features to Blog from a Smart Phone
When idaconcpts.com started back in 2008 (side note: we’re past the 2nd year mark! The first blog post of idaconcpts.com was on August 6, 2008).
Since the beginning of idaconcpts.com, I was really excited about sharing my insights on marketing and web analytics with the blogosphere. Once I started getting a bit of reader traction, I started wondering whether I could blog on the go. Back then I spent a lot of time commuting back and forth between work, school, and home; so it would made sense that I could draft up some articles on the go.
My blog was hosted at WordPress.com and I had just bought my first Macbook Pro and iPhone 3G so I downloaded the WordPress iPhone app and gave it a try. Unfortunately, this experience was not that good and I only did one very small post that was just titled “Test from iPhone” that included a 10-word sentence and one photo. After that I decided not to continue blogging from my iPhone.
However, after watching the launch of the Samsung Epic 4G from Sprint on August 2010, it made me rethink about the 3 key features that I would need to blog from a smart phone more often.
