How to Get Your MyLife Refund

no to fomo mylife

Back in September 2012, I wrote a review of Mylife.com. To recap MyLife.com (formerly Reunion.com) is a social network service founded in 2002, which claims to help members find and keep in touch with friends, relatives and lost loves. Their main strength was the acquisition of extensive alumni network data gathering companies.

Getting Your MyLife Refund

This people search engine is experiencing some customer service blues due its auto-renewal billing feature. According to the company, this feature is intended to guarantee that paid and premium subscription members receive uninterrupted service. Unfortunately, there needs to be a better job of communicating this to the customers.

Here is how to get your MyLife Refund:

1. Call MyLife.com customer care reps at calling (888) 704-1900 Monday through Friday from 6am to 9pm PST and Saturday through Sunday from 6am to 6pm PST.

2. The rep will verify your identity. Indicate that you want to cancel your membership. You will retain access to membership services until the end of your subscription term.

3. Paypal users: You also need to cancel your Paypal scheduled payments. You can do this logging in to your Paypal account, emailing them, or by calling Paypal’s customer service at (888) 221-1161 4am to 10 pm PST Monday through Friday or 6am to 8pm PST Saturday and Sunday. If you decide to call, make sure to get a one-time passcode through their portal for faster service.

This is the screenshot of my email newsletters signup form at my blog.

Diversify Your Blog with Video Blogging

video blogging

There are many reasons why bloggers may decide to incorporate video blogging onto their site. Sometimes it is out of a desire for diversity, since both the reader and the writer may get bored of large amounts of text. Sometimes it is because the blogger has something that they’d rather say – or show – with verbal rather than written words. And sometimes the blogger is just lazy (or in a hurry) and would rather talk their thoughts than write them down.

Whatever your reason may be for incorporating video blogging, it is important to plan out your strategy beforehand rather than simply jumping right in. Making a change to your blog is like making an investment. Here are some things to keep in mind:

Recent years have brought major advancements in 3D printing technology. As investors and industry giants like Epson, Objet, and HP continue to pour money into R&D, it seems exciting innovations are made almost daily. Already 3D printers are capable of producing spare parts for soldiers on the battlefield, sophisticated aeronautical mechanisms, advanced prosthetics, and even cardiac patches. They can manufacture objects in a wide range of materials and allow engineers to explore design possibilities that are impossible by traditional means. But not all the applications for 3D printing technology are ultra high-tech. It is also being used for a wide variety of whimsical purposes, one of which puts a whole new spin on the traditional photobooth.

Google Translate Based Tools

google translate tools

Probably the most beloved and frequently used auto-translate service on the web right now is Google Translate. Given the dominance of Google in general, it wasn’t a huge surprise when it overshot the popularity of Babelfish and became the number one source for translations. Especially since both the search engine and Chrome browser have built in translation features you can use.

But what about tools that expand on that program and make it easier to use Google Translate? There are several that have been created, though I would say these are the four best resources to turn to. Keep in mind that each one uses Google Translate, and so is only as reliable as the service. To date, no program has been created that is able to perfectly adapt language. But in the future…who knows?

How to Download and View your Twitter Archive

twitter archive

On December 19, 2012 Twitter introduced the ability to download your Twitter archive, so you’ll get all your Tweets (including Retweets) going back to the beginning. Once you have your Twitter archive, you can view your Tweets by month, or search your archive to find Tweets with certain words, phrases, hashtags or @usernames. You can even engage with your old Tweets just as you would with current ones.

Because the feature is available only to a small subset of users, there’s a chance you won’t see the button yet.

Here is how to download your Twitter archive.
