How to Attract Car Enthusiasts Online

Recently I got back in touch with a close friend whose hobby is to tune up his cars and “pimp them out” like that famous MTV show.

One important part of his hobby is to look for car accessories and truck accessories that add a distinctive touch.

He spends a lot of time looking online for custom grilles, spoilers, wheels, car floor mats, body kits, tail lights, and all things automotive, such as nano technology, that unveil beauty and style to his rides.

Talking with him about his online searches for car parts, reminded me a lot of a previous article where I discussed how to attract fashionistas online.

We started talking about his experience in several websites and what made his search easier and what didn’t.  Here’s a review of what I learned about the user experience of a car enthusiast visiting websites for car parts: what turns him off and what engages him.

Who’s Looking at Your Product Page?

looking at product page

You could have the best product in the world but if no one is looking at it, what’s the point? This is a reality that you have to face if you want to make it as a business entrepreneur. Between brainstorming the product and actually creating it, it’s easy to forget that you actually need eyes on your product to sell it.

A lot of “marketing gurus” like to talk about the value of a press release, but is your new product really a hot news item? If you’re honest with yourself, the answer is most likely “no.” Not to worry! You can still drive traffic to your product with a small budget of time and money.

The Importance of Healthy Internet Marketing Strategies

healthy marketing strategies

As an online marketer I get contacted on a daily basis by potential clients from around the world. A common denominator among them is that they are looking for a quick solution to an urgent problem:

  • For two years we have been running an email newsletter. Four months ago we started noticing that our subscribers are dropping out like flies. Can you buy us a couple email lists?
  • We rank well in our desired keywords on Google. We receive about 30% of our traffic from mobile phones, however they quickly bounce off our site. Can you creates us a mobile online media plan to increase our mobile traffic?

The answer to all of these questions is: “Yes, I can.” However, these are two perfect examples of what healthy Internet marketing strategies are NOT.  Chris, Kilbourn, Founder and CEO of Utah-based Tofu Marketing, explains it well: “You’ll never hear us throw around the term ‘traffic’ as though it is the be-all and end-all of Internet marketing. Instead, we are an online marketing agency that focuses on sending qualified leads to your website.” He adds: “We understand that 10 qualified leads are worth more to you than 10,000 or even 10,000,000 totally unqualified visitors.”

The two scenarios are asking for “unhealthy” solutions: quick fixes that will do a lot of harm in the future. In this article let’s discuss about how to develop healthier Internet marketing strategies for each one.

Ergonomic Consultancy: A Business Opportunity

wrong sitting

Does this picture seem familiar? It may even reflect how you are sitting right now. Now you may even be rearranging your sitting position as you are reading this. As a blogger and marketing consultant I spend a lot of time sitting down in front of a computer typing away and taking calls. I am guilty of improper posture myself. Since one of my coworkers, who is around of my same age, got diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and had to go through a very invasive surgery, I have taken several steps towards improving the ergonomics from my workspace at both the office and home.

In the process of doing so, I have realized that if you are looking for to start a business with  a high potential for success, and one that can change lives for the better, entrepreneurs should consider the world of ergonomic consulting.
