Google Translate Based Tools

google translate tools

Probably the most beloved and frequently used auto-translate service on the web right now is Google Translate. Given the dominance of Google in general, it wasn’t a huge surprise when it overshot the popularity of Babelfish and became the number one source for translations. Especially since both the search engine and Chrome browser have built in translation features you can use.

But what about tools that expand on that program and make it easier to use Google Translate? There are several that have been created, though I would say these are the four best resources to turn to. Keep in mind that each one uses Google Translate, and so is only as reliable as the service. To date, no program has been created that is able to perfectly adapt language. But in the future…who knows?

How To Handle Negative Reviews

handle negative reviews

SEO content has taken a slant towards opinions and reviews, giving writers a chance to raise their voice for profit. But writing reviews online is a tricky business. It’s very much a balancing act, and expects the writer to keep both the readers and the company having their product reviewed satisfied. Honesty is critical to loyal readership, which means that you will write negative reviews. It is possible to be honest, readable, and keep a good standing with your clients, but it takes a little know-how. Here are some tips for better SEO reviews.

The Worthwhile Law Blog: How To Create Engaging Content For Clients, Not Lawyers

lawyer blog

Blogging seems to be an unavoidable phenomenon these days, especially for businesses. Only a few years ago, no business wanted to waste it’s time creating blog posts…and most consumers didn’t want to waste their time reading them. Today, however, things have changed. Blogs are not only followed, shared, and commented on, but they also play a major role in your company’s search engine optimization (or SEO) efforts. Regular content that hits the right keywords can give your law firm greater visibility and higher ranking. Those two factors mean a bigger fan base and more potential clients.

But a law blog inherently faces big obstacles that other blogs, say a fashion or movie blog, don’t. Legalese isn’t everybody’s strong suit, nor do most people care to understand it. From a “civilian” standpoint, law blogs sound boring. But they certainly don’t have to be. In fact, there are several ways to enhance the content on your blog to be intriguing, attract more readers, and essentially breathe new life into the rare and nearly dead worthwhile law blog.

Four Handy Windows Phone Apps

windows phone apps

It must be difficult for Microsoft. They have had to get used to playing second and even third fiddle in this thing called the Mobile Operating System competition. Back in the tech boom 90’s, everything was ‘Wintel this’ and ‘Wintel that’. People were worried that Microsoft would be the evil monopolistic empire that they probably still aspire to be. Now it’s Apple that personifies that 1984 scenario so succinctly portrayed in their signature Super Bowl commercial. But Windows Phone 8 still has a thing or two to teach to those young whippersnappers over at Apple and Google. Case in point, these four handy apps for your Windows Phone (also check out these other lists of useful Windows Phone apps and must-download Windows Phone apps).

Mind mapping: “What’s in it for professionals?”

mind mapping 1

What is mind mapping?

To some people, mind mapping is a place of wonder where thoughts are meant to be discovered.  To others, it is a creative playground where you are never too old to play with your ideas and never too young to reach beyond your potential.

It is quite difficult to describe what mind mapping is all about because each person has its unique way of thinking and processing information.  However, in spite of these differences among us, there is a common idea which most of us would agree with and that is: in order to mind map you need to be aware of your thoughts.  In other words, mind mapping is about your thought process.  Every thought has the potential to grow and develop into a concept, a plan, a project and so on.  The development process of any of our thoughts can be captured through the visual power of mind mapping.  Continue reading “Mind mapping: “What’s in it for professionals?””

4 Useful Windows Phone Apps

Windows Phone 8 has the backing of Microsoft. Who may not be quite the titan they once were, thanks to Google and Apple finally making a chink in that monopolistic armor. Luckily for them, they haven’t put all of their eggs in one basket. Microsoft is still the fourth most valuable company. So they are still quite the force to reckon with. As such, Windows 8 users and adopters may be assured that there will be Windows phone apps available for their consumption now and long into the future. What’s impressive about Microsoft is that they know from OS’. Their Windows Phone 8 is unique. It has a few nice perks the others lack. Like being able to pin live tiles to your home screen, neat!

How to Download and View your Twitter Archive

twitter archive

On December 19, 2012 Twitter introduced the ability to download your Twitter archive, so you’ll get all your Tweets (including Retweets) going back to the beginning. Once you have your Twitter archive, you can view your Tweets by month, or search your archive to find Tweets with certain words, phrases, hashtags or @usernames. You can even engage with your old Tweets just as you would with current ones.

Because the feature is available only to a small subset of users, there’s a chance you won’t see the button yet.

Here is how to download your Twitter archive.
